It's Mothers Day today in Europe.. in case you know any mothers over there... I sometimes forget cos we don't get a reminder here in Canada... our Mothers Day is in May instead...) In Europe they celebrate it on International Women's Day, which is today.
It may seem like we are living in a post-feminist age... but as the press release link shows.. the main website was attacked today in an attempt to disrupt organizers abilities to engage globally with womens groups worldwide.

There are millions of women around the world, denied the basic rights that their menfolk already have.. such as access to education, freedom to choose their spouse, freedom not to wed, equal pay, etc etc
So I tip my hat to the women around the world striving to bring these basics into discussion in their respective countries and in the developed nations for striving to maintain, support and strengthen the equalities already achieved.
Go for it! Solidarity with brothers and sisters. Onwards and upwards together. Closing the painful gap.
Plus a story from todays IWD reporting that I find of interest...
women reporters... and sexual assaults
